[EN] Yellow flowers, Alfazema, palm fibers bought in São Joaquim market - grateful of Yemanjás blessings and protection. Navigating down the Paraguaçu river in Cachoeira. We first stop to offer a woven net with palm fibers. Once the tide starts to come up we slowly navigate until we find the house of Yemanjá on the river shores; the place where its said the sweet waters of the river Paraguaçu encounter the salty waters of the sea. We stop, we offer - each one of us, in our own way, respecting beliefs and traditions that each one of us carry and honour. But importantly, following and respecting the living traditions of terreiros, candomblé and the orixás of the water. It is a tribute to the African deities of Candomblé and Umbanda; of deities that inhabit the human and divinity worlds. 

[PT] Flores amarelas, alfazema, fibras de palmeira comprados no mercado São Joaquim - gratos pelas bênçãos e proteção de Yemanjá. Navegando pelo rio Paraguaçu em Cachoeira. Primeiro paramos para oferecer uma rede tecida com fibras de palmeira. Quando a maré começa a subir, navegamos lentamente até encontrarmos a casa de Yemanjá às margens do rio; o local onde se diz que as águas doces do rio Paraguaçu encontram as águas salgadas do mar. Paramos, oferecemos - cada um de nós, à sua maneira, respeitando as crenças e tradições que cada um de nós carrega e honra. Mas, principalmente, seguindo e respeitando as tradições vivas dos terreiros, do candomblé e dos orixás da água. É um tributo às divindades africanas do Candomblé e da Umbanda; às divindades que habitam os mundos humano e divino.
